Descrizione
English has one 'where'. Malayalam has three, and once you see why, you have every place word in the language. എവിടെ (where at), എവിടേക്ക് (where to) and എവിടെ നിന്ന് (where from), matched by three endings: -ഇൽ, -ഇലേക്ക് and -ഇൽ നിന്ന്. You also learn the transport words, asking how far, and the full auto ride: agree the price, ask for the meter, give directions, stop and get your change. Words and phrases in this class: എവിടെ (evide) – where (at) എവിടേക്ക് (evidekku) – where to എവിടെ നിന്ന് (evide ninnu) – where from വീട്ടിലേക്ക് (veettilekku) – to the house, home വീട്ടിൽ നിന്ന് (veettil ninnu) – from home ബസ് സ്റ്റാൻഡ് എവിടെയാണ്?
