Descrizione
No new grammar at all. This class shows you what you can actually do now. It starts with a plain inventory of what you own: ആണ് / അല്ല, ഉണ്ട് / ഇല്ല, six aspects, six ways to ask a question, the whole modal drawer, eight cases, sixteen connectors, reported speech with എന്ന്, and more. Then one long morning conversation with a Kerala host family is built from that material alone and walked line by line. It ends with exactly what to do on the day after the course. Words and phrases in this class: ചായ വേണോ? (chaaya veno?) – would you like tea? ഞാൻ രാവിലെ ചായ കുടിക്കാറുണ്ട് (njaan raavile chaaya kudikkaarundu) – I usually drink tea in the morning ഞാൻ ദിവസവും പഠിക്കുന്നു (njaan divasavum padikkunnu) – I study every day നന്നായി പറയുന്നുണ്ട് (nannaayi parayunnundu) – you speak well എനിക്ക് വേഗം സംസാരിക്കാൻ പറ്റില്ല (enikku vegam samsaarikkaan pattilla) – I can't speak fast സാരമില്ല (saaramilla) – never mind, it's okay ഇന്ന് ഞാൻ ടൗണിലേക്ക് പോകണം (innu njaan townilekku pokanam) – today I have to go to town അല്ലെങ്കിൽ (allenkil) – otherwise, or else ബസ് എവിടെ നിന്ന് കിട്ടും? (bus evide ninnu kittum?) – where do I get the bus from? എത്ര മണിക്ക് ബസ് വരും? (ethra manikku bus varum?) – what time will the bus come? മിക്കവാറും ഒൻപത് മണിക്ക് (mikkavaarum onpathu manikku) – probably at nine ഇന്ന് മഴ ഉണ്ട്, അതുകൊണ്ട് വൈകും (innu mazha undu, athukondu vaikum) – it's raining today, so it'll be late In this class: • The inventory: everything you can already do, said out loud • One long host-family conversation, heard whole and then walked • Three grammar systems inside one bus-time line • What to do the day after the course ends Quizzes below.
