In this episode, I focus on how to greet as well as how to introduce yourself in Afrikaans. 
The greeting part of the lesson focuses on how to greet throughout the duration of the day. This episode is translated in a formal manner of speaking Afrikaans. Below is the translated words and sentences. In hierdie episode fokus ek op hoe om te groet asook hoe om jouself in Afrikaans voor te stel.
Die groetgedeelte van die les fokus op hoe om deur die loop van die dag te groet. Hierdie episode word op 'n formele manier van Afrikaans vertaal. Hieronder is die vertaalde woorde en sinne.

おはようございます。日本語だんだんポットキャストのゆかりです。

今日は、"おてあらい"と“トイレ"についてです。

みなさん、トイレはきいたことがあると思います。

「すみません、トイレはありますか？」

「トイレはどこですか？」

といいます。

トイレのべつの言い方で、

"御手洗(おてあらい)"があります。

おてあらいも、トイレも、同じいみです。

おてあらいは、漢字では、
手を洗(あら)う、とかきます。

手を洗うことができる場所(ばしょ)

つまり、トイレのことですね。

私はよく、お店では、トイレよりおてあらいといいます。

お店の人に、
「おてあらいは、どこですか？」

「あちらですよ。」

「ありがとうございます。」

と言います。

私はとくに、ご飯を食べる場所(ばしょ)で、おてあらいといいます。
レストランやカフェですね。

なぜかというと・・

ご飯を食べている、ほかの人がいるので、
"トイレ"と言いたくないからです。

手を洗う場所、のいみの方が、
聞こえてもいいような気がします。

なので、ともだちの家に行くと、

「あ、ちょっとトイレかりてもいい？」

といいます。

日本で"おてあらい"、ぜひつかってみて下さいね。
