こんにちは～！マルハバ！ サウジの日本語の先生、佳子です。
このポッドキャストでは、日本やサウジアラビアのこと、私の日常などについて、ゆるく日本語でお話ししています。トランスクリプトとクイズは、ぜひ概要欄をチェックしてくださいね！
みなさんー！お元気ですかー？今日は、エピソード57「日本人らしく話すコツ」の続きで、食感を表すオノマトペについてお話しします。エピソード57で、少しオノマトペを紹介しましたよね。そのあと、私もいろいろ調べてみたんですよ。そしたら、「日本語って、食感を表現するオノマトペが本当に多いなー！」って気づいたんです。日本のお菓子のパッケージにも、「厚切りザクザク！」とか、「バリバリ新食感！」みたいに、オノマトペがよく書かれています。特に、英語の “crunchy” や “crispy” に似ているオノマトペがたくさんあるんです！なので今回は、それぞれの微妙な違いをご紹介します。

まずは、「さくさく」。これは、コロッケやえび天などのパン粉や天ぷらの揚げ物、クロワッサン、ラスク、パイなど、軽くて空気感のある食べ物に使われます。噛むと、軽く崩れる感じですね。

次に、「かりかり」。これは、チーズやベーコンなど、硬めで香ばしく焼いた食べ物に使われます。

続いて、「ざくざく」。グラノーラやナッツ入りクッキー、厚めのポテトチップスなど、大きめの食感で食べ応えのあるものに使います。パン粉のチキンカツは「さくさく」と表現されますが、コーンフレークを使ったチキンカツや、KFCの衣が大きいフライドチキンは「ざくざく」と言えますね！

まだまだあります。「ばりばり」。これは、固いせんべいやポテトチップスなどですね。日本に行ったら、ぜひ「堅あげポテト」を食べてみてください。バリバリ系ポテチとして人気です。一度食べるとハマりますよ。
それでは、「ぱりぱり」はどうでしょう？これは、薄いせんべいやポテトチップス、海苔、餃子の羽、サモサなどに使われます。ぱりぱりの焼き餃子は最高ですね。

最後は、「ぽりぽり」。どんな食べ物に使われると思いますか？正解は、ポッキーやプリッツなどの棒状のスナックや、漬物を食べるときです！また、食べ物以外でも、「ぽりぽり頭をかく」のように、小刻みに続ける動作にも使いますよ。

どうでしたか？レシピサイトや料理動画のタイトルにも、オノマトペは本当によく使われています。食感のオノマトペがあると、なんだか美味しそうに感じるし、自分の好みの料理も見つけやすいですよね。

さて、今日のフレーズは、「ハマる」です！「ハマる」は、何かをとても好きになったり、夢中になったりするときによく使います。
