The National High School Baseball Championship of Japan, commonly known as "Summer Koshien", is an annual nationwide high school baseball tournament. It is the largest scale amateur sport event in Japan, even as soccer continues to gain more attention.

プロ野球（ぷろやきゅう / puroyakyū）：professional baseball
甲子園（こうしえん / kōshien）：Koshien (location of Koshien Stadium, where the Japan National High School Baseball Tournament is held)

#26  高校野球 / The National High School Baseball Championship of Japan // N4 Level

“I’m not actually a huge fan of TV, but there is one show that I do enjoy watching every weekend. It’s called _______ idol, which is a hugely popular reality show, where aspiring singers compete against each other for a shot at fame, or even a record contract.




The show is on every Sunday night at about 8pm, and I normally watch it at home with my family.




Young people who dream of being a famous singer, can have the chance to be chosen to perform on the show in front of judges who select the best performers. Later on the public can also get involved, and vote for their favourite singer by phone or online, and the singer with the most votes becomes the winner.




One of the things I love about this show is that it gives any Joe Bloggs off the street, not only a genuine chance to show off their talent, but to also have a shot at fame.




I think we all dream of what it might be like to be a star, and this show really opens doors for some of these dreamers, if of course they have the talent.




On top of that, it’s a lot of fun watching the early stages of the show, and passing judgement on the different contestants as well as supporting the best singers, as if I had discovered them myself.

Ep 26 Learn Thai _ 10 Ways to Express Agreement in Thai _ เห็นด้วย [Hĕn dûuay] 

ไทยทีละนิด Thai Tea La Nid - EP.3 - Have You Eaten Yet? 

Hi everyone! Welcome back to Thai- T La Nid (ไทยทีละนิด) Podcast. This is the episode 3 with me, Om-am.

In Thailand, after saying “สวัสดีครับ/สวัสดีค่ะ”, we often greet each other by asking “กินข้าวหรือยัง” or “กินข้าวรึยังคะ” (รึยัง or หรือยัง have the same meaning) “กินข้าวหรือยัง” means “Have you eaten yet?” 

In Thailand, especially in the past, we normally eat rice. That’s why we say “กินข้าว” when we have a meal even we might eat something else. Haha.

And you can reply back by saying “คุณกินแล้วค่ะ” or “เรียบร้อยแล้วค่ะ” if you have already eaten. And “ยังไม่ได้กินค่ะ” or “ยังเลยค่ะ” if you haven’t eaten anything. 

Now, let’s take a looks at some more phrases about this topic:

ข้าวกลางวัน - lunch
ข้าวเย็น - dinner

So “คุณกินข้าวหรือยังคะ”?
