All About English and How You Learn It!

Talk about 'formidable tasks' and use multiple other adjectives too!

想 (xiǎng) and 要 (yào) are both verbs in Chinese that can be translated as "want" in English, but they are used in different contexts and convey slightly different meanings.
想 (xiǎng) is used to express a desire or inclination, often accompanied by a feeling or emotion. It can be translated as "to think" or "to wish" in English. For example:
我想去旅游。 (Wǒ xiǎng qù lǚyóu.)
I want to go traveling.
他想学游泳。 (Tā xiǎng xué yóuyǒng.)
He wants to learn how to swim.
要 (yào) is used to express a strong desire or intention, often with the idea of taking action to achieve a goal. It can be translated as "to want" or "to need" in English. For example:
我要一杯咖啡。 (Wǒ yào yī bēi kāfēi.)
I want a cup of coffee.
他要买一辆新车。 (Tā yào mǎi yī liàng xīn chē.)
He wants to buy a new car.
Note that in some contexts, 想 (xiǎng) and 要 (yào) can be used interchangeably, especially in spoken Chinese. In this case, the choice of word may depend on the speaker's style or emphasis.

はい、こんにちは洋平先生です。えー、今日は「意外とひらがなだけの文はむずしい パート2」をやりたいと思います。はい。えー、ちょっと前にパート１もやったんですね みなさん聞いていただけましたか。
で、パートワンの時もいましたが、ひらがなだけの文は意外とむずしいんです。うん特に中華系（ちゅうかけい）の生徒たちにとってはかなりむずかしいと思います。 
いつもスムーズに日本語を読んでしまう生徒も、ひらがなだけにしたら、急に読めなくなってしまうということが起こってしまうんですね。
はい、じゃ今日もちょっとむずしい会話を用意しました。で、みなさん聞いてくださいね。 
 
A：どうしておくれたの？
B：とけいがとまっていたんです。
A：おくむらぎんこうにレポートをもうおくった？
B：まだです。
A：え！きのうおくれたでしょう！？
B：ごめんなさい...
A：ぜったいにおくれちゃだめっていちおくかいいったでしょ！！？
 
 
はい、どうですか。えー、聞き取れましたか。簡単でしたか、むずかしかったですか。はい。で、この会話の中にちょっと似ている動詞がありますね。えーっと”遅れます”、時間に遅れますの”遅れます”、ですね、to be late の遅れますとあと レポートを送りますの可能形動詞。うん、potential verb ですね。の”送れます” 
これが全く同じ発音(はつおん）ですね。うん、これはちょっとむずかしいですよね
と、後ちょっと今回はえー、特にうん、特別（とくべつ）むずかしい言葉も入れてみました。奥村（おくむら）銀行 これは銀行の名前なんですけど、ほんとにあるかわかんないんですけど。も えー、奥村は、日本人の時々ある上の名前ですね。はい、苗字ですね。”奥村（おくむら）。と、あと最後に”1億回”（いちおくかい）、これはone hundred million times ですね。”1億回”。で、この4つの言葉を、1つの会話、短い1つの会話に入れたんで、ちょっとむずしいかなと思いました。 
じゃあえー、ちょっと復習（ふくしゅう）しますね。”送ります”のpotential verb　の可能形動詞は？”遅（おく）れます”ですね、辞書形の方が”遅（おく）れる”ですね。
 
送ります→遅れます→遅れる
遅れる→✕
 
で、時間に遅れるの”遅れる”が、可能形動詞、potential verbはありません。
これは言うことができません。

A：ぜったいに遅（おく）れちゃダメって一億回（いちおくかい）ったでしょ！！？
