What is comprehensible input?

안녕하세요, 여러분! 오늘 팟캐스트에서는 한국어에서 자주 쓰이지만 학습자들에겐 생소할 수 있는 표현
[ -가지고]에 대해 이야기해 보려고 해요. 
우리가 흔히 아는 [그래서, -기 때문에, 왜냐하면] 등의 여러 표현 외에도, 일상 대화에서 [-가지고]라는 표현을 굉장히 많이 사용해요.
영어로는 ‘because’ 나 ‘since’의 의미로 이해하면 돼요.

우선, [-가지고]는 약간 구어체적인 느낌을 주는데요, 특히 친구들끼리 편하게 대화할 때 자주 쓰여요. 
예를 들어, “아, 늦잠 자가지고 수업에 늦었어”라고 하면 “늦잠 자서 수업에 늦었어”와 비슷한 의미지만, 좀 더 캐주얼하게 들리죠.

예문으로 볼까요?
"배가 너무 고파가지고 편의점에서 뭐 좀 샀어."

여기서 -가지고는 "너무 배고파서"의 뜻이에요. 이렇게 가볍게 이유를 덧붙이는 느낌이죠.

"버스를 놓쳐가지고 학교에 걸어갔어."

“버스를 놓쳐서”라고 할 수도 있지만, [-가지고]를 쓰면 좀 더 말하는 사람의 불만스러운 느낌이 잘 살아요.

마찬가지로,
"길이 막혀가지고 늦었어."

길이 막혀서 늦었어 대신, 더 원어민스러운 느낌이 들죠.

In today's fast-paced world, truly being heard can feel like a luxury. Active listening, however, goes beyond simply hearing words. It's a powerful communication skill that fosters deeper understanding, builds trust, and strengthens relationships. Here are some best practices to elevate your active listening game:

Be Present: Put away distractions like phones and silence internal chatter. Focus solely on the speaker, conveying attentiveness through eye contact and open body language.

Listen Verbally and Nonverbally: Pay attention not just to words, but also to tone of voice, facial expressions, and body language. These nonverbal cues can reveal underlying emotions or unspoken concerns.

Embrace Silence: Don't feel pressured to fill every pause. Comfortable silence allows the speaker to gather their thoughts and express themselves fully.

Ask Clarifying Questions: Don't assume you understand everything. Use open-ended questions to encourage elaboration and ensure you're on the same page.

Paraphrase and Summarize: Reflect back key points in your own words to confirm comprehension and demonstrate attentiveness. This also helps identify any misunderstandings early on.

Acknowledge Emotions: Validate the speaker's feelings with empathy. Show you understand their perspective, even if you don't agree.

Minimize Interruptions: Allow the speaker to finish their thoughts before responding. Interrupting hinders their flow and can come across as dismissive.

By incorporating these practices, you become a more engaged and supportive listener. This strengthens relationships in all areas of life, from building trust with clients to fostering deeper connections with loved ones. Remember, active listening is a continuous journey. With practice, you'll become a master of communication, fostering a world where everyone feels heard and understood.

こんばんは！Atsushiです。
今日の北海道の天気は雨です。
ずっと雨が降っています。
気温は19℃です。少し寒いですね。

私が学生だった時は、今日8/31が夏休みの終わりでした。
明日9/1から新学期、日本だと2学期のはじまりですね。
今ははじまる日はもう少し早いです。たぶん先週の途中からはじまっているところもありますね。

私が学生の時は、8/31が休みの最後の日だったので、とても寂しい気持ちだったことを思い出します。それと夏休みの宿題が終わっていなかったので、必死になって終わらせていたと思います。

夏休みは、日本の学生生活で1番長い休みですね。ですので、家族や友達といろんなところへ出かける、遊びに行くとか、旅行することが多いので、楽しいイメージがあります。

冬休みや春休みもありますが、それはそんなに長くないですね。2.3週間です。夏休みは1ヶ月ちょっとありますね。約40日ぐらいですかね。日本人は働き始めると、そんなに長い期間は休むことはとても少ない、ほとんどないので、学生の時の夏休みはとても貴重な、大切な時間ですね。

高校生までは友達と海に行ったりしましたが、大学生になると行動力もつくので、日本中を旅行したり、海外にも行ったりします。

私が大学生の時は、日本国内の旅行と海外旅行、両方しました。大学生の年齢になると車の免許が取れるので、車での旅行が増えました。毎年車で旅行をしましたが、1番記憶に残っているのは、北海道を車で一周したことです。

おそらく4.5日かけて回ったと思います。
日本最北端の宗谷岬、最東端の納沙布岬に行きました。
おいしいラーメンや海鮮丼を食べたことは、今も覚えています。

そんな北海道に25年後に住んでいるとは想像もしませんでした。人生何があるかわかりませんね。わからないから楽しい！と思います。最近はわからないことを楽しもう！という気持ちになってきました。来年どこに住んでいるかわからない人生はそれはそれでエキサイティングですね。日本語のレッスンをしていると、いろんな場所に住んでいる人の話が聞けるので、本当に楽しいですし、刺激をもらいます。

夏の話からそれてきましたので、ここで終わりにします。
