“Than” is a conjunction that is used to compare two ideas. Example: she is taller than her sister.
“Then” is used in reference to time.
Example: she went home and then went ahead to sleep.

'Than' is comparative: I like potatoes more *than* grass. I go out more now *than* when I wasn't vaccinated.
'Then' is an conditional or temporal adverb: I mowed the lawn *then* went for a run. If this, *then* that. Back *then*, I was living in Minneapolis.
