My ipad is still broken and I will have it repair soon. Thanks to the broken screen, I can learn how little patient I am but how creative we are in hard period. I have to turn around my ipad to write or read properly. It is not easy but at least I have less typos. It has taken an age to type this post.

My ipad is still broken, but I will have it repaired soon. Thanks to the broken screen, I have learned how little patience I have, but also how creative we can be during a hard period. I have to turn around my ipad to write or read properly. It is not easy but at least I have fewer typos. It has taken an age to type this post.

"hard period" makes sense, but I think it's more common to hear these phrases: "hard time" or "difficult period". They at least sound more natural to me.
