Could someone tell me what the difference is between “dissatisfied” and “unsatisfied”?

I agree with Rubie.
Dissatisfied - you are actively unhappy.
Unsatisfied - you are *not* satisfied.
I can't think of a better example than hers 🙂

Dissatisfied has to do with being unhappy or displeased with something. Unsatisfied has more to do with it not being fulfilling.
Example: dissatisfied with a meal because it tasted bad
Unsatisfied with a meal even though it tasted good because you're still hungry
