Why "Dzien Dobry" is pronounced as if it is "Dzien Dobre"?

I've noticed that some nations have a problem to distinguish Polish "y" and "e", even if for Poles the difference is audible and obvious. Try to make some excercises with minimal pairs, like "tyczka - teczka", "wyjść - wejść", "skrzyczał - skrzeczał", "ty - te", "my - me" and so on.

Please click on the sound button. Do you hear “e” at the end, or “y”?
