The task: The two line graphs below show the value of New Zealand imports from Australia and Japan in the years 1994 - 2004. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. You should write at least 150 words. My answer: The line graphs illustrate the value of imports of New Zealand from Australia and Japan over a ten-year period from 1994 to 2004. Overall, throughout the given period, the value of goods imported from Australia was generally higher than those from Japan. While imports from Australia went up, Japan exhibited a downward trend. Regarding imports from Australia, at the beginning of the period, New Zealand imported goods worth 4 billion New Zealand dollars. The figures fluctuated over time, and from 2002, the value of imports rose constantly, standing at 8 billion NZ dollars in 2004. When looking at imports from Japan, we can see that initially, in 1994, its exports to New Zealand were worth 3 billion NZ dollars, and the trend was upward. However, in 1997 and 2000, there were two noticeable dips to roughly 4 billion and 3 billion NZ dollars respectively. By the end of the decade, the value of goods imported from Japan had dropped to its lowest level at around 2 billion NZ dollars. Many thanks in advance, and have a nice day✨️
