Many people around the world use social media to keep in touch with other people and get the news. Do you think the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages? It is believed that social media helps people to be closer with each other and obtain new information as well. It could have benefits as an opportunity to maintain the family or friend ties, despite the addiction that can be in the case of using social media. On the one hand, one of the biggest advantages of social media could be the ability to know daily actions or events of your family and friends, because these platforms offer daily stories where everybody can share their photos of thoughts. As a result, the opportunity to be involved in daily life can allow the chance to react to these actions and maintain relationships every day. For example, statistically, almost 90 percent of international students use social media, such as Instagram or What App for keeping in touch with their parents. On the other hand, social media apps can be addictive, especially for the younger generation. The reason for this could lie in additional content based on the previous history of this client. As a consequence, a lot of people can spend hours with the social media resources. For instance, in Canada to reduce the social media addiction many education authorities banned smartphones at elementary schools. In conclusion, the tendency to use social media platforms all over the world can have pros, such as maintaining the social ties and cons, addiction for instance. In my point of view, the ability to obtain enough information about family, friends or world situations is more crucial than the hypothetical chance to become addicted to social media. It is a reason why I think that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages of using social media.
