“Heart Attack” is a 2015 Thai romance comedy movie featuring the life of freelancer Yoon and his struggle finding a balance between work and life. Humorously portraying Yoon’s struggles, which many adults may empathize with, this movie made me laugh out loud so many times while watching. So, here is a summary and thoughts about this movie! Yoon is a work-obsessed freelance graphic designer who feels anxious if he doesn’t work on the weekends; he’s even proud of how he can stay awake up to four days straight. For him, taking the weekends off or traveling somewhere is a luxury and nonsense because he fears that someone will take over his work: Success is what matters to him the most. Then, one day, as if the god were warning him, he starts to get rashes. Since things get worse, Yoon visits the doctor. In the hospital, Yoon is assigned to this beautiful doctor, Imm, who asks trivial stuff like if he gets to increase a female model’s bxxb size when he works on his projects. And Yoon starts to find this easy-going doctor attractive and wants to get close to her. (Well, he gets to whip out his pee-pee for a check-up, so he kinda achieves his goal.) From that day on, Yoon visits Imm every month for regular check-ups. Despite Imm’s medical advice, Yoon slacks off taking care of himself, and the situation gets worse. As Imm can see that Yoon neglects her advice, she gets annoyed and snaps at him. Worse, they eventually argue about their different views on life. For Imm, it’s hard to understand Yoon, who doesn’t take care of his health. For Yoon, what Imm says doesn’t make sense because he thinks that prioritizing health over success is impossible. On top of having an unwanted spat with Imm, Yoon starts to underperform at work as well. The story continues. So, that’s it! Check out “Heart Attack” if you are curious! (The original title of this movie is roughly translated: “Freelance...Do not be sick, do not rest, do not love doctors.” )
