Tutor della CommunityIs there a big difference between "Recht" and "Gesetz" ? I know the study of law is called "Recht" but is there something else ?

etwas für Recht erkennen
nach Recht und Gewissen
auf sein Recht pochen (that does not necessarily mean the law, but one's rights)
Gesetz is the law which is e.g. written down in the Criminal Law or by an institution. Recht has a broader term including as well morals or not specifically legal matters, something what you are allowed to do: Recht auf Meinungsfreiheit. Ich habe das Recht, mich frei zu äußern.
