We don’t need to put too much effort into those kinds of things since there are a lot of people who are not familiar with each other.

You need to use the full infinitive "to put" after the verb "need". You have used "those" which takes the plural, "kinds of things". People is the plural of the irregular noun "person". In some contexts "persons" can be used (e.g. law).You need to insert "who" as a relative pronoun for your relative clause. Many in western countries spend a lot of time on these things, even spending excessive amounts of time on social media. So this is a good question, is it necessary or even healthy?
