5 Things you should be doing every day if you really want to improve your English! You won't learn English, purely by studying now and again and then turning off your English brain right after class. You need to instead create an English environment around you. You may have already heard that the best way to learn a language is to use it with real people from day one. Even when you only speak a few phrases, you should get out there and use it. Many students are too shy to use their English until they become fluent. Yet, you can't become fluent unless you use your English. It's a Paradox! Here are 5 things you can do on a daily basis to create an English environment without having to move overseas. 1) Read When you read, you are not only working on your reading skills but you are also improving your comprehension and expanding your vocabulary. Choose something you are interested in and read about it in English! Note down any new vocabulary and ask your Italki teacher about it next class 2) Write There are two things I recommend my students do every day with regards to writing. The first is to chat with native speakers online via messaging apps like WeChat, Whatsapp, Line, and Messenger. Try your best to find a chat buddy Online and talk about things you are really interested in. The second thing that I recommend is that you write a diary. At the end of each day, right before you go to sleep. Write a few paragraphs in English about your day. This is great practice in using the past tense. Also if you use English right before you go to sleep, you may even dream in English! Again, take a picture of your Diary and send it to your Italki Teacher! They can give you feedback on your grammar, sentence structure, and use of vocabulary. Part 3, 4, and 5 are in the next post! #LearnEnglish # CommunityVoice# Fall-into-Learning# ChineseLeague# WorldTeachersDay# DailyVocabulary
