Are both OK? some items for travel, etc. I took everything with me. I got everything with me.

I think that technically "I got" . . . etc. is grammatically incorrect. It should be either "I have" or "I've gotten". It's a little complicated. I GOT is correct if you mean I PROCURED, CAME INTO POSSESION OF, ETC.(the past tense of GET) bot not correct if you mean I HAVE, I OWN. After all that . . . I GOT is quite commonly used, and not just by people with bad grammar. Just don't use if on an academic paper, etc. I TOOK . . . . etc. is correct, but may not mean the same as I GOT . . . It's possible that you took everything, but don't still have everything with you, ex: "I took everything with me and left it at my friend's house."

Hi! Same in general, though the first one: "I took everything with me" sounds more natural. The other option would be typical for British/Irish English when corrected to "I've got everything with me." Hope that answered your question!
