Getting to understand "只要……就……" by repeating 3 sentences.

A common problem for many students and adult learners of Mandarin is their attempt to translate text, word-for-word, from Mandarin into English. Although there are vast number of grammatical patterns in the Chinese language, I struggle mightily with the 只要……就…… (zhǐyào... jiù...)    grammatical pattern. Fortunately for me, and I would imagine a few other Mandarin language learners on iTalki, instructor Wendy Zhang patiently, and methodically explains the use of只要……就…… (zhǐyào... jiù...)  pattern in a masterful way during this segment of Wendy Zhang’s 边听边说 More than Listening podcast . Furthermore, Zhang laoshi (张老师 ) places emphasis on several phrases that many learners rarely hear and are unfamiliar with such as 绕道走 (ràodàozǒu ), “take a detour。 ” This is a fun and effective way to learn or review the 只要……就…… (zhǐyào... jiù...) pattern I highly recommend Zhang laoshi (张老师) to anyone aiming to improve their listening, speaking and reading language skills.
