What are your criteria for a choosing a Teacher here on italki? What do you specifically look for when searching for one, apart from obvious "indicators" like Rating and Reviews? It seems a bit tough to make one’s mind ...
How has your experience been so far with your teacher/s?

I have taken 200 French, Spanish, and Persian language lessons on italki. My suggestions:
1 - Ignore the star rating. Almost everybody has five stars.
2 - Look for someone with a high ratio of lessons per student. A high ratio shows that the students were satisfied and paid for more lessons. Five lessons per student is average and ten is excellent.
3 - Look at the student reviews. It is a excellent sign if some students have taken 40 or 50 lessons.
4 - Look for someone who has training as a language teacher for nonnative speakers. For English, look for TEFL, TESL, or TESOL training. For French, look for FLE training. For Spanish, look for ELE training.

Hello Furqan,
May be I am not qualified to talk in this issue because I haven’t taken only two lessons. But as far as I am concerned, I choose them according to the reviews of students. Other criteria would be that the teacher must be a native speaker of the target language. You may laugh but yes I have seen some teachers who teach a language that is not their native language. My experience with teachers was nice with the English teacher but not good with the Spanish one.
