The difference you mentioned is indeed correct when it comes to the so-called "Wechselpräpositionen". Those are prepositions that can be followed by dative or accusative, depending on the context.

Vielen Dank, aber...
The article is well explained but it needs more examples! I was told that the difference between both Akku & Dat is the the Akku uses moving actions (Ich gehe zur(zu der) kino) while the Dative uses non-moving actions(Ich bin im(in dem) kino). Which has facilitated the way of understanding both cases.
