I think it is December and April in Thailand. December - year end - people spend money on travelling and buying new year gifts. April - Thai new year - people travel for pleasure, go home to see their families if they live away from home, gifts for elderly etc. I love December and April because there are so much going on everywhere and it makes me feel happy.

I think, the most expensive months in a year in former Soviet Union are December and January. The main holiday for all people is New Year (January 1), everyone must buy the presents for relatives and many foods for the holiday table. All these things cost money, that are spending during last december's week. Than 1-3 January usualy there are the free days. People go to the friends, neighbors, relatives, and spend money again for foods, drinks, presents and so on. There is a tradition - don't come empty-handed. So holiday go on. May be till Christmas, January 7. Some people selebrates this holiday too. Some people just like selebrating, companionship and may spend all their money during this period.
