What's the difference between "bete" and "stupide"?
I learned about the former from Duolingo and the latter from matching the English word "stupide" as I heard this on TV. Would be great to hear from native speakers' perspectives.

Stupide is stronger in the negative way.
Look at this little conversation :
- Christophe, viens à la maison ce soir, ne va pas à l'hôtel
- non...c'est gentil mais je ne veux pas vous déranger !
- Ohhh tu es bête de ne pas en profiter, ça me fait plaisir.
Not bad at all to say " bête " in that context.
I would feel a little bit insulted if someone use stupide in any context.

There is no difference, you can also add 'crétin' 'idiot' 'imbécile' and the list goes on.
PS: it is written 'bête' and not 'bete'.
