I use Skype as my default platform. But this morning I had a student who wanted to use Google Hangouts. There is one main disadvantage using Google Hangouts for teaching online, and that is, you can't sent word, or PDF documents on Google Hangouts.

I also use Zoom. It's professional video conferencing software that also has a recording function and an interactive whiteboard. Love it!

I usually use Zoom when Skype is not working well.  It is a bit more complicated to learn, but seems to take less bandwidth and function better when internet connections are not so good.
