I was watching a clip and asked girl's parents that whether they'll let their girl marry to a boy who has low income or not and some of them answered that they can't let, because they can't guarantee a good life for the girl after marriage and love without a proper money after marriage is just a lie...

From my point of view of my place few people have a proper marriage with religious celebration or any celebration at all, most of the people just say that are going to live with someone and go...

So, it's up to each girl and not to their parents to decide... at least from what I can see...

In America yes they can and do (sometimes unfortunately haha)
It all depends on the girl and what she thinks is important

Wow, young hearts always believe that with love they can conquer every corner. Sure we have such lovely souls in China. I think expectations and job security have both changed. Years ago people would marry with very little, particularly if one of them had a full time job as many jobs were much more secure than now. They expected to have to save for things and acquire things slowly but they also expected to remain in full time employment. Nowadays, most jobs do not offer job security and people prefer to be financially more secure than in the past before getting married. Neither money nor possessions guarantee happiness and starting out with very little can make a marriage more of an adventure but it is a personal decision in the end.
