Differences between jokes and pranks.

Hi Vanessa! A joke is a very short story that you tell to make another person (or sometimes just yourself) laugh. One of the most famous English language jokes (and probably the worst!) is:
Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?
A: To get to the other side! (hahahahahaha)
I'm sorry, it's terrible, isn't it?
A prank, on the other hand, is a joke that contains some kind of physical element. This could be something like swapping sugar for salt at the dinner table and vice versa to see how your friends react. 'Pranks' can also be called 'practical jokes', and there are many hilarious examples over on Youtube. Here is one of my favourites. I hope you don't mind spiders!
