Are you proud to be from your country?
At the time being, I'm not sure what country I'm from, because I live in Catalonia, Spain, and there are some arguments here about nationalities and states. What I wanted to debate is both if tou are proud beeing from your country and if you think this pride is rather a good thing or a dangerous thing. Or just something whit good and bad possible consequences.

Why would anyone take pride fow their homeland. It's not an achievment, just a random thing. Never understood that pride.

I am an American and I am not proud of being an American, rather I'd say I feel lucky that I was born in the US and not in some remote island somewhere out there or some other countries where the freedom is limited for women and the opportunities are less. There is nothing to proud of any nationality, race, language, culture etc cause they were all given to you for the sheer accident of being born in that particular region. You couldn't even choose your own name when you were born, let alone the place of your birth and such.
