Going for a walk: 散步 (sànbù) vs. 走路 (zǒulù)

What is the difference between 散步 and 走路?

To say, "I often take a walk after work," which is correct?

1. 下班以后,我经常散步。

2. 下班以后,我经常走路。

Thank you!

散步是心境,走路是方式。

when you walk for pleasure or exercise, use 散步;

when you walk in order to go somewhere, use 走路。

I agree with 下班后 我经常散步 is correct one. but if you mean walking to your home. I would say 下班后, 我走路回家。because 散步 and 走路 are different. Taking a stroll is you are ambling along with street or around lake relaxedly. we usually describe as 在河边/公园散步。but 走路 is a way of walking to home. if you mean going for a walk or I often take a walk after work. I would say "散步". It is different with walking your home.

Walk can mean 散步 走路 at the same time.

hope this makes sense.

“散步” is a kind of "走路", usually slow, especially means do good to health by 走路。
