Surveillance
Do you suppose there is some surveillance carried out by security authorities of your country on Italki?

Some years ago, italki was banned in Iran, because a few Iranians had posted anti-government comments here. At that time, I was astonished and couldn't believe that they had cut our access to italki. We had to use a VPN to log into italki. Luckily, the ban was lifted after a short time. So, yes, that short -timed ban made me realize that surveillance exists. It doesn't make any difference now because italki has strict policies against posting controversial threads.

In Iraq I don't think so and even if there is on some platforms like Facebook and Twitter it is not a complete surveilliance.

On italki? No luckily : ) No one really knows italki that much in Jordan. By that I mean to say that italki isn’t a popular website here.
On Facebook and What’sApp? Oh yeah!
With all the democracy we have here, many people were taken to prison because of what they publicly published on their Facebook accounts or exchanged on What’sapp. That’s why iPhones have a different definition in my country! You would feel safer using one here and use some of the services above like What’sApp on the phone because they don’t know how to hack iPhones yet!

Thank you Jan, Val, Mumtaz and Nada!
You calmed me down guys. Really, we are not that interesting for security and intelligence officers, I hope :)

I believe that Russia can do it, but I can't see the reason.
