Let's discuss what we like about Italki. :) I like the notebook section where people can post their essays/sentences and people can get the posts corrected. It's fun to interact with people on the message board. Plus you get to learn things about other countries. I've never visited another country before and Italki let's me learn about other cultures, traditions and ways of living.

You summed up my response already. I can talk to people that otherwise, I wouldn't be able to. This enables me to learn about their culture and to learn about different ways of thinking.

Informal classes are one of my favourite things on italki because I love that I can take classes with someone from let's say Mexico and talk about the day of the dead celebration in Spanish with someone who actually experiences this event. I'm learning while immersing myself in the culture.

I also like interacting with people from different countries. I like when I write and my articles get corrected this is my usual activity on Italki.

As a teacher, I am happy that the booking process and finding students is not that complicated, as compared to other language teaching sites. I would go as far as to call it revolutionary I feel closer to the people I meet here thousands of miles away than people I am in contact with daily. I was going through a very tough time a few months ago seeing the discussion board, reading the notebooks kindof helped me. I have talked to people here 1000 hours or more so this site is an essential part of my life.
