'Inglourious Basterds' is the correct spelling of the film in question. It's deliberately misspelt, presumably to avoid copyright issues with another film of the same name.
I typically count beginning from my left thumb down to my left pinkie, then down again from my right thumb.
However, I am a fan of the ancient Mesopotamian method, which involved counting the phalanges (finger bones). A hand has 12 phalanges (excluding those of the thumb). You can go on to count up to 60 by keeping track of your dozens using the fingers (including the thumb) of your other hand. If you remember which hand you started with, you can then count up to 120 by changing the hands around.
Adapting this further, if you are standing, when you get to 120 you could change your hands back around and start balancing on your left leg. At 240, you could do the same but on your right leg. At 360, go back to your left leg and start hopping. At 480, start hopping on your right leg. That will bring you up to 600, at which point you need do a headstand...
