i am working - i work
Can we use "i am working" instead of "i work" ? For example,
- what do you do?
- i am working for Apple.
- what do you do?
- i am working for Apple.

I am working as a/an (You use 'an' if followed by a vowel (a, e,i,o,u)
Ex(example) I am working as an engineer.
Ex (example) I am working as a nurse.
You can also say:
I work as a/an......

We use the simple present when we are talking about a general situation, something that is a normal part of your routine or a habit. So, if I asked you 'Where do you work?' your answer would be something like 'I work at ABC Ltd' because you do it every day. But, we use the present continuous/progressive when we are talking about a limited period of time, something that will not last for very long. So, if I asked 'What are you doing now?' you could answer 'I am working, but I'm going to watch television later'.
So, yes you can use both, but they have slightly different meanings and give different information.
