Text colors when doing corrections

Does anyone know how to type in colored text?  When I select a text color from the menu bar in the corrections window, my text still appears in black.  What am I doing wrong?

Well, Peachey, your method works for me but my original method doesn't!  Guess I'll chalk it up to computer gremlins and go with what works.

Strange - it works fine for me.

 

In general, I type the correction, select the text then change the colour. Your way seems to work perfectly fine as well, so I'm not sure what's happening here.
