What life skills should be taught in school?

  I learned an immense amount of information in school. Most of them I couldn't use in real life. From memorizing the periodic table to solving Algebra problems and so on. I wished that schools can teach more life skills instead, information or training that is more useful and practical.


Simple things like how to manage money and finances or things about how to improve mental health and manage stress.

These are aspects that not one of my best teachers taught but is actually useful in our day to day life.

@Naomi Can I suggest something NAOMI...If you like to advertise your profile, can you not do it in another teachers post? It is a lazy way of advertising yourself. Some of the teachers here who answered the question has at least the decency not to use my post. Do it old school, students will see the value in talking to you if you have originality.

Cooking. I know some schools in the US teach this in middle school and high school but every school should teach this.

I totally agree with you. After finishing school, I could realize how stupid what I have learnt is. Although I was one of the best student at the time, I feel sometimes sorry about the time I spent worrying about marks because almost none of it was beneficial for real. I wish students would be able to learn real life skills such as public speaking and communication skills.

I would say the students have to improve or learn more medicine knowledge.
Especially in the epidemic parts.
