First notebook entry: Introducing myself

I'm planning for an international inaternship internship!

But I cannot speak English well X(  [the preposition 'in' is not necessary]

I want to SPEAK English more and more fluently!!!

I want to improve my TALKING and LISTENING skills!

I study have studied English for more than 8 years.

['have studied' is the present perfect tense of the main verb study.  'Perfect" means completed/finished/past = studied (like the past tense of study) and 'have' is the auxilary/ helping verb in the Present tense.  So, you can remember the Present Perfect tense by remembering that the main verb is in the past tense and the helping verb is in the present.  When these two verbs are combined it suggests/means/tells us that the action started in the past and has continued up to the present.  I am so glad that I don't have to try to learn the 12 English verb tenses:)] 

The prepositon 'for' has several uses, and one of the uses is to introduce a period of time, e.g.,
I walked for 3 hours.
I studied for weeks.
I was on vacation for one month. 

But I rarely have a chance to talk with non-Japanese speakers or talk with a non-Japanese speaker.

So I cannot listen and understand what foreign people speak say in English X(
So I cannot listen and understand when foreign people speak English/speak in English.
[you don't have to say 'listen' because/since it's understood that you must listen to be able to understand spoken words]
So I cannot understand when foreign people speak English/speak in English or
So I cannot understand  foreign people when they speak English/speak in English
