how often do you delay on the job and is it common in your company? it is not so applicable to delay your work, in my opinion. it is needed to be done, little by little, thus, there is no overload in the later time or next day. That is why, i i often finish my work little by little. Because in some companies, you are not paid to do overtime. if it is still possible for you to conduct work as usual, throughout the day, and can finish it by the end of the working hours, you'd better tried to not delay every incoming job. It could make you free from some of the routine administrative work, and maybe you will be ordered to help another colleague's job, but it is okay as long as your work is done well first. Maybe it is not worthy to fill up other's responsibility, but it could later put you in a good image as a helpful employee, or maybe higher, you will be labelled as reliable co-worker in the eyes of your boss. About is it common or not, to delay jobs, it depends on what is the nature of the job and how it is done. If you need another people in the team, to accomplish some tasks, and mutually need them to cooperate and help you finish the job, and they all do it in a cooperative way, then i think there will be no much delay on the job. mostly what happens is, your work is associated with another people, and how they respond or not to your work, perhaps it will make you slowing down, or make you speeding up. What job are you doing actually right now? it is wrong to deliberately delay your job, though. Because maybe, some pressure there, and you want some space to relax, but in any companies, your talent and ability are waiting to be explored. If you are able to do your work well, and be disciplined, maybe a good company can treasure your position and your work assessment will be positive.
