Watching Japanese drama, some thoughts: I happen to think more about there is always a subtle effect in TV that affects us. I am talking about the storyline in the TV shows, like most movies, dramas. TV shows more or less contain certain kind of ideologies (philosophies, world views, or other synonyms) that producers like to show to the audience. They can't present a plot that contradicts what the audiences want to believe or they don’t want the audience to believe, former one is common in the democratic society, latter one may exist in the non-democratic society. For example, a movie that oath to unleash the individual right over government right perhaps will be banned in North Korean (it’s off-topic, but tricky speaking, if it's only reveal the general concept, the government might still accept for creating an illusion, as long as the means to do that are not reveal in the movie). My point is, although there are certain movies that try to explore our view, but for the sake of popularity, the story still more easily becomes best-selling if it goes along with what the audience original want to see. This kind of logic reminds me that producer want to take an advantage of our innate reflective reaction (ex. trigger our fear to catch us attention). And here, the producer tries to enhance a particular belief. However, we know there are so many beliefs in the world, whether or not the belief that every drams or movie try to impose us is right, wrong, deficit, naive, or purposeful. I guess we are the only defender of our independent thoughts. Sometimes, I guess this sounds exhausted, but gladly, it would be also become more interesting and meaningful when noticing a variety of thoughts that underlying the everyday movies and dramas.
