השמש זורחת - literallly means the sun is rising. Shemesh is female btw.

קורן - radiates. technically a suitable word for the sentence, but זורחת became the idiom for the situation.

ציפורים is also female. There's no hard rule determining each animals "default" gender or its plural suffix (im/ot) - which isn't indicative of its gender!

קרפדות וצפרדעים - toads and frogs, female

אריות ונמרים - lions and leopards, male

יש לי משפחה "I have a family" sounds mundane. I think you tried to write something like-

אני עם המשפחה I'm with the (my) family

אני בחיק המשפחה I'm within the family (prosaic)
