Tolkien and the Ring of Power.

I think the ring of power is a metaphoric description of the central state's power. There is never going to be something anything like "honest politicians" because once they have the ring of power they become in corrupted.

There is a saying in English:  "Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutley."
