Talking about transport (2/2)

I remember one day when in which I had a problem with a taxi driver.  … I had gone to a nightclub outside the city with my friends and, as we had drunk some alcohol, we decided to call a taxi to go home. When he saw us, he said we couldn’t get in because he was afraid we were going to puke inside the taxi. After argueing with him for a while, he finally agreed to drive us home. When we reached our destination and asked him how much money the journey was, he pretended to charge us a plus more than of 20€ and, of course, we refused to pay it and had to threaten him  with calling to call the police. Fortunately, he listened to reason and it things didn’t  get worsen. Since then, I haven’t taken a taxi anymore.

I’d like to finish this essay eliciting some ideas to improve the public transport in my town. I think people would use it more often if there were more bus stops, if they were cheaper and made journeys more often. Doing this, I'm sure people wouldn't be so reluctant to take the bus and it would help to reduce pollution and improve the traffic, making my city a safer place to live.
