Company onboarding
When I started to work in my current company I was responsible for an onboarding of new employees.
The process started on the first work day. There weren’t any prehire activities exept of a preparation of a work place and an onboarding program with a schedule and a list of activities.
On the day one in the company newcomers filled and signed all legally required papers. After the procedure was finished I met them. We discussed their onboarding programs and went through the first intro about the company: our intranet and basic resources of usefull information. After this we went on a tour around the office. Our final destination was a canteen or their workplaces.
Onboarding programs used to last around one month and consisted of a new employee orientation program – a presentation about the company, getting to know meetings in various departments and new hires trainings. Actual list of activities and duration of the program very much differ depending on a position of newcomer.
The new employee orientation presentation also was conducted by me. Usually there were around twenty our new colleagues but once the presentation visited around one hundred people. We discussed a basic information about the company: history, geography, culture – a mission and values, a strategy for near future, key policies and compensations and benefits.
It was my final formal meeting with newcomers, next they move to be trained on their workplaces. But this way I have known almost all company’s employees and to be their first meeting and helping person was a very nice experience.

*reception?
Very well written! I am not sure about 'onboarding'. Maybe it is a new business management word. I have assumed you meant 'reception'.
