But as for the question of whether a test of spoken English is necessary,there are some controversies among people. Many people hold that it is necessary.In the first place,students’spoken English level should be improved when they are preparing for the test.Secondly,this is a fair means to assess college students’spoken English level. Some people,however,take a different attitude.They bilieve that it is meaningless to take a spoken Englisgh test.There are two reasons for this.One is that,it may cut the students’interest in learning as their hardwork is just for a test.What’s more,some students who cheat in the test make the test unfair and meaningless. As for me,I agree with the first viewpoint.I believe that the advantages of taking a spoken English test outweigh the advantages.So in my opinion,a test of spoken English is necessary.
