I have a question about the meaning of the adjective WATERY
Does "watery" mean humid or damp?
I live in a city quite humid. Can I say that it's watery? they are synonyms?
Thank you

Potresti usare questa parola per descrivere una zuppa che non è sufficientemente addensata.
"This soup is too watery. I need to cook it longer so that it will thicken."
Good luck!

"Watery" means that something has visible, liquid water. Often it means something has too much water.
"Humid" is the right word for air that is moist. Not misty, not foggy. Another word, more colloquial and less formal, "muggy." Right now, where I live (in the northeast US), the temperature is 30°C and it is very uncomfortable because it is hot and muggy. A few days ago the temperature was 30°C but it wasn't bad at all, because it wasn't muggy--the humidity was low.
"Watery" means there is literally water, liquid water.
"I thought I had mixed the oatmeal correctly, but it came out thin and watery."
"I have watery eyes because of an allergy."
"Venice is a watery city." (Not because of humid air, but because of the canals.)
"Damp" means that you can see and feel wetness, but there isn't any liquid water, no drips, no puddles.
"I wiped the counter with a damp dishtowel."
"My clothes got slightly damp in the rain, but I don't need to change them."
"The house never got aired out. It smelled damp and musty."
"The clothes washer spin cycle gets most of the water out of the clothes, but they are still damp."
