This is looking delicious. Is this sentence only used for food in the making? Also can I say " This looks delicious" to food in the making?

This is looking delicious is for when you are in the process of making the food. As in 'this is looking delicious, I hope it comes out well in the end!'

We’d usually say “This looks delicious” for food being made and even when it’s ready!
