Is there any explanation why there are two types of the letter "alif" in Arabic: "alif mamduda" & "alif maqsura"? Why does "alif maqsura" have a form of the letter ى?

There is no historical explanation, but the origin of  "alif ma9sora" in words is "ya" for exemple (يبكي is the origin ofبكى )

There is rules for each one and there is also for nouns and for verbes( for alif mamdoda and for alif ma9sora in verbs and nouns ) it's a importing lesson in arabic language
