Dear Xin, I am glad to hear that your parents are coming to visit Tianjin. Are
your parents generally interested in parks? I would recommend a big park called
Xigu Park near my house. There are swimming pools and basketball courts. (Is basketball suitable for older people?) What’s
more, the Rose Garden is now open.(why is this good?) There are also restrooms and water fountains. If your parents would like it, I can take them there and show them
around. As for accommodation, I would say the Astor Hotel is probably the best
luxury experience the city has to offer. The Sheraton Tianjin Hotel is another
excellent choice.(maybe suggest a budget alternative - If they would prefer something cheaper, the ABC Guesthouse is basic but clean) If they have extra time, they can visit our museums as well. The Old
Town Museum of Tianjin is familiar to very few locals and even less so to
foreigners because it is off the beaten path. But I think it is a special museum
with a lot of interesting local antiques. And it is also easy to
get there by bus or subway. Do your parents have smart phones? If they do, I
would suggest they download the train and bus transport app then they can pay
using QR codes. Please let me you if you need any help. Sincerely, Li
