Before talking about electric vehicles, let's talkabout something eles. I can buy a new bike with 500 Yuan and ride it for many years, but I need to spend at least 1000 Yuan for gas every month. The cost of gas in a year can buy 24 bike. It sounds crazy. In term of money, a gas-powed car is not economic for most people. Meanwhile, as for the owners of electric vehicles, they never think of the cost they spent on their car. The money they used to pay for the cost of electricity is very little which can't draw their attention easily. Maybe you have decided to buy a electric car replaced your "old friend", but you will find that everything is not that easy. The price of a new electric vehicles is as twice as the price of a same size gas-powed car. The price difference between these two kinds of cars can be enormous. If it's 50 thousand(much lower than the mean in my areas) , which also equals the cost of filling up my tank for about 150 times. It's not economic either. So, buying a new bike for each members of your family might be a perfect and environmental choice! What's your choice?

Before talking about electric vehicles, let's talk about something else. I can buy a new bike with/for 500 Yuan and ride it for many years, but I need to spend at least 1000 Yuan for gas every month. The cost of gas for a year is worth 24 bikes, it sounds crazy. In terms of money, a gas-powered car is not economical for most people. Meanwhile the owners of electric vehicles never have to think about how much they spend on their car. They spend so little on electricity that they don’t really pay attention to their expenses. Maybe you have decided to buy an electric car to replace your "old friend", but you will find that everything is not that easy. The price of a new electric vehicle is twice the price of a gas-powered car of the same size. The price difference between these two kinds of cars can be enormous. If it's 50 thousand (much lower than the average in my area), which is also worth enough gas to fill up my tank about 150 times. It's not economical either. So, buying a new bike for each member of your family might be a perfect and ecological choice! What's your choice?

Before talking about electric vehicles, let's consider an alternative. I can buy a new bike with 500 yuan and ride it for many years, but I need to spend at least 1000 yuan for gas every month. The cost of gas for one year can buy 24 bikes. It sounds crazy. In terms of money, a gas-powered car is not economic for most people. Meanwhile, owners of electric vehicles never have to think of the cost of their car. The money they pay for electricity is very little, so it doesn't draw their attention easily. Maybe you have decided to buy an electric car to replace your "old friend", but you will find that everything is not that easy. The price of a new electric vehicle is twice the price of a same-size, gas-powered car. The price difference between these two kinds of cars can be enormous. If it's ¥50,000 (much lower than the average in my area), it would amount to the cost of filling up my tank about 150 times. It's not economical either. So, buying a new bike for each member of your family might be a perfect and environmental choice! What's your choice?
Hi Wendy! I understood your paragraph very well. I made a few notes. "Let's talk about something else" is an expression that you use when you want to talk about something TOTALLY unrelated to subject, usually because it makes you feel uncomfortable. I would not say this in this context. In general, please pay close attention when indicating whether a noun is singular or plural. This is a common mistake made by speakers of languages like Chinese. Lastly, "mean" and "average" have the same definition, but English speakers only tend to use the word "mean" in academic or professional settings. Because the word "mean" has other definitions, it can cause more confusion than simply using the word "average" instead. Overall, your English is still great! And to answer your question, I would still prefer an electric vehicle, if I could ever afford one!
