It was sunny today. My mom and I joined our friends for a cookout at the riverbank. Everything was well-prepared; someone even brought along a huge box of fireworks and firecrackers. As dusk fell, the adults started lighting the larger fireworks while we kids played with the tiny sparklers. We all enjoy fireworks – they truly make celebrating the new year a wonderful experience.

Sounds fun. I always liked to climb the mountain in XM and see the fireworks all around. Although that was Chinese New Year rather than Jan 1st.
