What's the difference: "私は「name」て゛す" and "私か゛「name」て゛す" ?

私は「Jack」て゛す" = Jack is my name. "私か゛「Jack」て゛す" = Answers the question "Who's Jack?" Don't worry about は and か゛at the beginning. You'll only get to understand the difference as you progress.

「私はMikeです」・・・自分の名前を言うときに使う言い方。または、名前を聞かれたときに使う言い方。 「私がMikeです」・・・事前にAさんがBさんにMikeの話をしている。その後にMikeがBさんに会ったときに使う言い方。
