Owls, owls, owls. What's the difference between '올빼미' and '부엉이?'
I love owls. They are my favorite bird. What's the difference between the two words?

I didn't realised difference between those two owls until I find your question and answer. lol
올빼미 is owl and 부엉이 is eared owl.
I found 부엉이 has ears!

A lot of Koreans say that (that 올빼미 don't have ears and 부엉이 have ears). It mostly holds true, but an exception is the 솔부엉이, which has no ear tufts. Still, not a bad rule of thumb.
